Urban Decay BackTalk - First Impressions

Monday 23 April 2018

The one & only time I will jump on a new release hype is when its an Urban Decay drop. I know for a fact I will never be let down or disappointed once it gets delivered. They are experts in all things make up whether that be formula, design or colour, they kill it every damn time and BackTalk is no exception. The monochromatic palette of dreams.

The moment I spied the early leak of this palette I knew I needed it there and then. To be fair, I don't actually own a palette of pink shades at all so my collection well and truly needed it.
It's two palettes in one as well as being compact & travel ready ( luckily because this baby is coming everywhere with me ). This palette is inspired by their number one best selling vice lipstick in the shade BackTalk, one side is all the eye shades you could want & the other is 4 coordinating blushes and highlights. It's everything I wanted and more.

Once again UD went in on the design of this palette. It's compact but sturdy. The graphics match the muted mauve & rose shades. The palette is magnetic so closes softly & easily, the mirror located in the middle is also attached magnetically & removable, which is really handy because I always forget to pack a mirror if I travel anywhere. Although...no brush with this palette.

In true Urban Decay style the shades are highly pigmented & easily blended. Each shade packs a punch and doesn't take much to get a good covering on the lids & cheeks.
As you'll see on these swatches;

Eye shades from Top to Bottom:
3 Sheets - Light pinky nude matte
Bare - Light pinky peach satin
Curve - Metallic rose shimmer
Backtalk - Soft rosy mauve matte
Shade - Deep fuchsia satin
Attitude - Metallic red copper
WTF - Reddish brown matte
180 - Metallic brown red

Blush & Highlighters from Top to Bottom;

Cheap Shot - Medium Pink Blush with slight shimmer
Double Take - Rich Mauve Blush with slight shimmer
Low Key - Pinky Peach Highlighter
Party Foul - Light pinky nude Highlighter

I have to say off the mark my favourite eye shades are, BackTalk, Shade & Curve. My favourites out of the four cheek options are Double Take for blush & Party Foul for highlighter. The highlighters are actually insane for pigmentation pay off!

I can honestly say I'll be reaching for this palette over & over again. As much as it is a very pink palette you do have the colours there to achieve very different looks each time you use it.

So there you have my first impressions, all the pictures possible & swatches.
How are you feeling about BackTalk? Want it yet?
