Latest In Beauty | A Build Your Own Beauty Box

Wednesday 15 November 2017

From since I can remember, I've been umming and ahhing about trying out a beauty box sub. Are they worth the money? Do you actually get good products? Is it all just samples? Luckily for me *Latest In Beauty got in touch to see if I would like to try out one of their beauty boxes and even pick the products myself.

One of the main reasons I have never committed to a beauty sub box is because I always thought I'd either be let down by the products or it would be a complete faff to do. Turns out its actually not! With Latest In Beauty you get to choose either 3, 6 or 9 products to receive, so you know they are the kind of product you would use. You can choose the Beauty Novice which is £9 a month and that sub box will get you 3 products, there's the Beauty Enthusiast for 6 products and that one is £15 a month or you can go all out with the Beauty Guru sub box for £18 per month and that'll get you 9 products. There's free delivery on all boxes, you can unsubscribe at any time and you get a free limited addition make up bag with your first month.

To Start off, you create your profile and choose your beauty preferences and favourite brands for Latest In Beauty to then offer tailored recommendations. They have everything from make up to hair care, the products are even refreshed and added to daily. There's pages upon pages of options to add to your box, and if you've added your maximum amount of products and then find something you'd rather have, you can swap products out (I actually spent ages doing that).
Or if you fancy treating yourself to a few more products you can choose one of their Collection boxes, they are a little more expensive but definitely look worth it, you can see what's inside the boxes before buying.

It took me a couple of days before I actually finalised my box as there were so many brands and products I either wanted to try or had tried and loved. So here are a few of the products I picked out;

I am actually fully impressed with the products I picked out. They were all really good sized and not just a little sample like I would have expected. There's enough of the products to really try them out for a few days even weeks, and in reality, it helps you decide if you want the full sized products. Which a couple of what I picked out, I will be ordering full size.

This was my first ever beauty box, and I don't really know what to expect from a box like this, the products I'm impressed with, but the presentation didn't blow me away. It gets delivered in a brown mailing box and that is filled with tissue paper, fancy cardboard stuff and the products buried inside. My box arrived pretty bashed up, but luckily all the products we safe. I think I was honestly expecting a fancier box inside. It would be nice to have something cute to store the products in.

My first beauty box experience was a good one, the products were better than expected and they were actually chosen by me so I knew I'd like them. The product size was good and the whole process in it's self was painless.

But am I now a sub box convert? I'm going to have to go with no, nothing in this experience made me say no. I just don't think they are for me.

Although if you are a sub box lover and you're looking for a new one to try I would definitely give Latest In Beauty a try.

  1. I use to be subscribed to Look Fantastic and Glossy Box, but they soon become a little repetitive. However, that's what I love about Latest in Beauty - you can actually choose yourself what you'd like included within the box. You got some fab products by the looks of things! xx
